District Administration had its Council Meeting at the District House in Chennai on 17-18 October. The Minutes will soon be made available to all the confreres. The District Administration has had a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at St. Thomas Moore Church at Veppampattu, Chennai.
They also invited Fr. Tom Cassidy to offer a Solemn Mass on the Occasion of his 83rd birthday & 50th Anniversary of his Priesthood. Fr. Michael Augustine had a canonical visitation at Allapalli Mission Community (Fr. Jesu & Dn. Arun). visited Most. Rev. Sagili Prakash, the Bishop of Khammam Diocese. He is very pleased with our confreres and their missionary activities at Allapalli-Gundala Mission Stations.
Bishop Sagili Prakash has given us permission to supply hosts to the Diocese of Khammam from our Vempadu Host Making Centre and also the Vestments from our Tailoring Centre at Vempadu. Fr. Marianand & Fr. Thomas are working on the expansion of the Centre by reaching out to different dioceses. Fr. Michael Augustine had visited CDN Community and participated in the 83rd Birthday Celebrations of Fr. Tom Cassidy. They also honored him at the District house before his departure to US
Christu Dehon Jyothi Formation Community at Assolna, Goa has organized a Day of Vocation Camp today to give vocational awareness to the youngsters. There were about 18 participants. Mission Sunday was meaningfully celebrated in our pastoral communities. Leo Dehon Minor Seminary at Dharmagarh, Odisha (Fr. Rinu & Fr. Ashit), organizes creative Rosary everyday during this Rosary Month and prays for the various intentions of the District, Congregation and the Church.
DPN Minor Seminary Gorantla is completing the renovation of the Dining Hall and the community members make their contribution with their painting skills. Fr. Alex John (our missionary in Malaga, Spain) will begin his Spanish language course from next week.
Fr. Moses Sayala, (our Missionary from Albania) will fly back to the mission land tomorrow after the completion of his home holidays. He has visited our District House along with Fr. Rajesh. Fr. Christy Peter leaves for South Africa to give a month long retreat to SCJ novices in South Africa. He leaves on 24th October and will return on 5th December.
