District Weekly Updates!

The community of Divine Mercy Home, Velim had celebrated the 3rd death anniversary of Mother of Fr. Wency and the community along with Lay Dehonians distributed 50 food packets for the homeless on the streets at Madgoa. On 28th, the Lay Dehonians came together at Divine Mercy Home, Velim. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Fr Harish Kumar and inputs were given by Fr. Wency on God’s Call and Purpose, followed by Adoration and Agape.

Formation Program (Unit II) for the Lay Dehonians at Dehon Bhavan Spiritual Renewal Centre @ Kumbalanghi was animated by Fr Sunil Roman. The main Title for the session was WHO ARE WE? (What are you looking for? Come and See; text of Fr Dehon & the Spiritual Path). Concluding of the Rosary month was celebrated on a grand scale at Sacred Heart Parish Nambur with the Rosary Procession.

New Parish Council was elected and was installed on 31st October at St. Thomas More Parish, Veppampattu, Chennai. Fr. Suresh Gottam attended the International Jubilee Convention of Prison Ministry in India (PMI) at Muvattupuzha, Kerala from 27-31 October as the Coordinator of the Prison Ministry in Nagonda diocese.

All Saints Day & All Souls Day were meaningfully celebrated in all our parishes. District House Community celebrated the Priestly Anniversary of Fr Praveen, our District Treasurer on 27th October. Fr.Christy begins 1 month Ignatian Retreat for SCJ Novices in South Africa yesterday and he will finish on 1 December. He was well received by Fr Sanil & Fr. Angel.

Fr Stefan Tertunte has visited some of our communities this week. He will fly back to Germany on Saturday after the completion of Dehonian Ongoing Formation at CDN & DVS. Fr. Guntoro, our General Councillor will visit the Indian District from 11-30 November. His visiting schedule will soon be sent to all the confreres. Our Fourth Year Theologians will have their comprehensive exams on 10th & 11th November and 14th & 15th November and will end with the Comprehensive written exam on 18th November.
